Yes, you heard it right, Apple accidentally tweeted about the dual-camera setup on the iPhone 7 Plus, and almost immediately deleted it. Before it could though many had managed to take a screenshot of the tweet and shared it online. The tech behind the dual-camera setup could be from LinX, an Israeli startup Apple acquired in early 2015.

The dual-camera setup on the iPhone 7 Plus includes a pair of 12-megapixel snappers — a wide-angle lens and a telephoto lens. The two cameras work together to create great zoomed in photos. The cameras are capable of 2X Optical zoom and 10X Digital zoom. The setup is capable of clicking DSLR-like photos with very shallow depth of field.

There is now a new Portrait mode in the iPhone’s camera app, which lets users click portrait shots with bokeh effect. Apple showcased some beautiful portrait shots clicked using the iPhone 7 Plus on stage at the ongoing event. Apple says that the dual cameras create a depth map to find the subjects of a photo and then blur the background.
