Flipkart launches app for Android Wear smartwatches

Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart has switched its attention to the growing trend on wearable technology and has launched an app dedicated to Android Wear smartwatch users. The e-commerce site is the first in the industry to launch an app on the Android Wear Store which will currently support basic features like wish-lists, and push out notifications on personalized offers, price drops and order status. Flipkart says that it plans to add more features in the future.

Apart from the above mentioned features, the app also has a new user interface, smart search, mode of payment choice, and options for sharing with friends. The future version of the app could bring order tracking related information, price drop notification and personalized offer notification to Android Wear smartwatch users.

The official statement released by Flipkart states that smartwatches that are sold exclusively on their site, like Motorola Moto 360, and smartwatches from Garmin and Martian, will all come pre-loaded with the Flipkart app.

To get the app on your smartwatch, simply update the Flipkart app on your Android device to the latest version.
