Anthropic’s Revised IPO Filing Reports $33.2 Billion in Nine-Month Revenue and $895 Billion in Compute Commitments

Anthropic reported revenue of $33.2 billion for the nine months ended September 30, 2026, according to a revised IPO prospectus the AI company filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday.

The amended S-1 filing also lists nearly $895 billion in compute and infrastructure commitments, and additional estimated payments could push Anthropic’s total compute tab beyond $1 trillion.

The figure represents a year-over-year growth rate of 1,206%, the filing states. Anthropic warns in the same document that it does not expect revenue to keep growing at comparable rates and “cannot assure you that it will continue to grow at all.”

Anthropic Revenue Growth Slows in the Third Quarter

The revised filing shows quarterly growth already easing. Revenue rose nearly 2.5 times between the first and second quarter of 2026. Third quarter revenue of nearly $17 billion was up 46% from the second quarter, while compute and infrastructure costs climbed 77% over the same period.

Cloud marketplaces accounted for roughly 44% of Anthropic’s revenue in the nine months ended September 30. Anthropic says no single customer accounts for more than 10% of revenue.

The filing still treats reliance on hyperscalers for distribution as a risk, since Amazon, Google and Microsoft either build competing products or offer models from Anthropic’s rivals.

Anthropic Compute Commitments Approach $1 Trillion

The prospectus puts Anthropic’s commitments at about $895 billion, up from the more than $800 billion reported a week earlier. The breakdown in the filing:

  • roughly $320 billion in existing contractual obligations
  • about $451 billion in signed leases that have not commenced yet
  • nearly $70 billion in contractual payments due by September 2027
  • around $447.5 billion in commitments expected to be incurred by the end of 2030

Anthropic separately estimates additional payments made to secure adequate compute at $150 billion to $175 billion, which brings the total above $1 trillion. Deals with Microsoft, Google, Amazon and Broadcom now total $437 billion and are non-cancellable, and some require payment whether or not Anthropic uses the capacity. Of the $895 billion in contracts, only about $213 billion allow Anthropic to avoid payments.

“Our ability to meet the substantial and growing financial obligations of these requirements to secure compute depends on our ability to generate significant revenue growth,” the filing reads. Debt or equity financing remain options, but leaning on them long term could dilute existing shareholders or force borrowing on unfavorable terms.

For Claude users and API customers, the filing does not announce any product or pricing changes. Anthropic expects the signed leases to begin between 2026 and 2028, and some of those agreements remain subject to termination rights or other conditions.
