Contrary to previous announcement, OnePlus One has confirmed that it won’t roll out its home built OxygenOS today. During an AMA on Reddit, the OnePlus team announced it would most likely not be able to meet the deadline that they had previously announced.

The team indicates that the reason for delay is the certification of GApps. Users did suggest that they should roll it out without the GApps, but we do not know whether the company plans to do that or not. For now the OnePlus officials wrote on Reddit that, “There are extremely high chances that we are giving away these 5 out tomorrow.” This is in line with a previous announcement, where OnePlus had promised that if they did not meet the OxygenOS roll out deadline, they would give away five OnePlus One’s to users.

As for the features on Oxygen OS, Carl Pei confirms that it is much like pure Android, except for some key differences. “It’s close to pure Android, but it isn’t. You’ll be able to see it for yourself in a few days,” he said.

When OnePlus took the wraps off OxygenOS, it spoke about the team, and roping inYodlee’s Alok Ranjan Srivastava, but did not mention much about the features. The company has also promised that CM 12S would see its release on March 30, and Carl Pei has confirmed that it will be made available to Indian users as well.
