YotaPhone with dual-displays might soon launch in India via Flipkart
Russian smartphone maker Yota might launch its first smartphone in India soon. The YotaPhone featuring a dual-display was briefly listed on Flipkart, which is an indication that the device might soon go on sale on the e-commerce site. The listing was first spotted by MakTechBlog.
The smartphone, which was unveiled at Mobile World Congress last year, created quite the buzz as its features two displays —an LCD primary display and an E-Ink secondary display. The latter is always on and can be used to show notifications, weather, social media updates, calendar reminders, as well as reading e-books.
As far as specifications are concerned, the YotaPhone flaunts a 4.3-inch HD 720p display at the front, and a 4.3-inch (640×360 pixels) E-Ink display at the back. It is powered by a 1.7GHz Snapdragon 400 dual-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM. Also included is 32GB internal storage.
The smartphone also features 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 1-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 1,800mAh battery. Connectivity options include LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, and on the software front, it runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
There is no word on when Yota will launch the smartphone in India. But the fact that it was spotted on Flipkart is an indication that a launch shouldn’t be that far off.
