A new Vivo smartphone is now available to buy in India without following any launch. The Vivo Y56 5G is the latest mid-range smartphone from the company, which is reportedly selling in offline stores. Since Vivo has not officially announced the phone or its availability online, the Y56 5G is likely to be available in mobile shops near you, at least for now.

According to Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom, Vivo Y56 5G comes in an 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant that costs Rs 19,999. A listing of the Y56 5G on the Vivo India website shows the price of Rs 24,999 instead. This means the offline price includes offers and discounts. The phone comes in Black Engine and Orange Shimmer colours.

An image of the Vivo Y56 5G’s retail box, posted by the retailer on Twitter, shows a design similar to other Y-series phones. There is a waterdrop-style notch on the display and inside it is the selfie camera. The phone rocks a flat design and two big cutouts for cameras on the back. All the buttons are on the right side, but the location of the SIM tray is not clear from the photo.

Vivo Y56 5G specifications

For its specifications, the Vivo Y56 5G comes with a 6.58-inch FullHD+ IPS LCD panel stuck to the regular 60Hz refresh rate. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There is a 5000mAh battery in the phone, but its charging speed is not clear. It runs Android 13-based Funtouch OS 13 software.

On the back of the Vivo Y56 5G are two cameras: a 50-megapixel F1.8 camera and a 2-megapixel F2.4 camera. The front camera, on the other hand, uses a 16-megapixel F2.0 sensor. The camera app on the Vivo Y56 5G supports Night mode, Portrait mode, 50MP mode, and Live Photo. There is support for both 5G NSA and 5G SA modes, meaning both Airtel and Jio services will be available. The phone is 8.15mm thick and weighs 184 grams.
