HP Stream 8 is one of few Windows 8 tablet options in India, priced at Rs 16990
The HP Stream 8 has landed in India for a price of Rs 16990 without making a big fuss about its debut. This is the same tablet that was launched along with its 7-inch namesake as well as the Stream 11 and 13 notebooks only in September.
Allowing for 3G connectivity via the micro-SIM card slot it hides under the hood, the HP Stream 8 stays true to its name and sticks to an 8-inch display with IPS technology for decent viewing angles. It runs on the Microsoft Windows 8.1 OS and gets its steam from a quad core Intel Atom processor clocked at a rate of 1.8GHz.
The visuals are supported by Intel HD Graphics, of course. The Stream 8’s 32GB of internal memory can be supplemented by slipping in a microSD card of up to 32GB. It features a 2MP camera above its touchscreen and a 5MP one without flash, on the back panel. The tablet works on a 4000mAh battery and measures 124 x 209 x 8.9 millimeters.
The device tips the scales starting at 388 grams. In terms of connectivity, you can expect standard fare such as Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi and as we mentioned above, 3G support. Apart from the new tablet, the company has also released offerings like the HP 7 VoiceTab, Slate 6 VoiceTab II and more into the Indian market.
