Video shows off Cortana running on Windows 10
For months we have been hearing that Cortana, the digital voice assistant service currently exclusively available on the Microsoft’s mobile operating system Windows Phone will make its way to the desktop platform. Now a new evidence has surfaced which is bolstering all such claims. WinBeta has published a video demonstrating what Cortana will be capable of on Windows 10, and what it will look like. The publication claims to have gotten access to an earlier build of Windows 10 that has Cortana in it. In the video, we can see Cortana placed right on top of the status bar sporting a rather unimpressive look. But that is only because the build is specifically meant for developers and Cortana’s UI is yet to get bells and whistles and a fresh paint that will make it attractive. The service, much like its Windows Phone counterpart offers features like ability to take notes, and set reminders and alarm. For now, however, Cortana doesn’t offer her chatty site, that is where she answers personal questions and tell jokes. There are several more additions on the service like ability to open an app, or ask her to play a music, which don’t seem to completely work just yet.
Microsoft seems to have broader plans with Cortana. Not only the company is gearing up to get the voice assistant service to the desktop platform, according to a company’s chief Cortana will also arrive on rival platforms like Android and iOS in coming months.
