The Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite’s battery life is not its only strength
While the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite is currently one of the more expensive models from the Galaxy S10 family, a quick look at the MSRP shows that as the Lite moniker suggests, the Samsung phone is a lower-end device within the series.
However, it is far ahead of the Galaxy S10e, particularly in terms of the specifications. Although both smartphones come with a Full HD display, the S10 Lite’s display is significantly larger and up to around 50 percent brighter. The latter will become particularly apparent in sunny weather.
Thanks to the stronger battery and the Snapdragon 855, the Galaxy S10 Lite offers excellent battery life and is able to last far longer than even the Galaxy S10 5G, which is equipped with a 4,500 mAh battery. Another feature that is unique to the Lite model within the S10 smartphone series is its FM radio receiver.
However, a few compromises had to be made and so the Galaxy S10 Lite offers neither Wi-Fi 6 nor 2-Gbps LTE. Furthermore, the Bluetooth module does not support dual audio, there is no wireless charging and the smartphone carries no dust or water protection certification.
While the starting price of around $585 may seem pricey at first, it is likely to drop very soon, if only for the Lite product to be cheaper than the high-end smartphone again. Since the Galaxy S20 can currently be purchased starting at 500 Euros (~$551), the Galaxy S10 Lite will likely be significantly cheaper still in the near future.
