iOS 8.4 update in the works, may feature re-branded Beats Music service: Report
While Apple is yet to release iOS 8.2 or iOS 8.3 software updates to public — both of which are now available to developers — the company seems to be already working on the next point update to its mobile operating system. Citing its sources and site’s traffic analytics,9to5Mac’s Mark Gurman reports that a number of testers are already beta testing the iOS 8.4 update, and it will be released to public after the launch of Apple Watch.
While there is no official announcement, rumors suggest that the iOS 8.4 software update will come with a rebranded version of the Beats music service, which the company purchased last year. The company is also expected to lower the Beats’ offerings.
Meanwhile, the company started to seed out the pre-release beta of iOS 8.3 software update to developers on Monday. The software update comes with new CarPlay menu (found in the General category of the Settings application). The update also brings support for Google’s two-step verification when adding a Google account on an iOS handset.
Additionally, iOS 8.3 update also comes with a redesigned emoji keyboard. The keyboard now sports a semi-transparent background. The new keyboard also makes it easy to scroll through emojis. The parent menus in the keyboard have also been updated with new logos and categories. It now comes with people, festive emoji characters, motion, and many new symbols.
