Xiaomi Redmi 1S successor alleged photos leaked
While it is already known that Xiaomi has plans to launch a flagship device sometime next month, it seems the company also has plans to announce the successor to its Redmi 1S. Several alleged photos of the forthcoming device have leaked by Gadgetraid, including one where it is compared to its predecessor.
As seen in the photos, the Redmi 1S successor appears thinner and a little wider as well. The publication also notes that the new handset borrows capacitive buttons from the flagship Mi 4 handset.
This could be the same handset that was spotted on benchmarking website AnTuTu a few weeks ago. According to the listing the device codenamed HM2014811, sports a 4.7-inch display with 1280×720 pixels and is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor paired with 1GB RAM.
Other features include an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter. The LTE capable handset runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with MIUI v6 skin on top. The handset will have a 2,200mAh battery.
In comparison, the Redmi 1S features a 4.7-inch HD display, Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 1.6-megapixel front facing camera. It also includes 8GB internal storage, microSD card slot, and it runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
Earlier this week, a Redmi 1S handset with LTE support too was spotted on a Chinese forum. We will know more on Monday, when the company is expected to launch the new handsets. More photos of the device follows.
