People are having a hard time accepting Airtel’s new tariff plan for using VoIP services. The largest telecommunications network in India by subscribers yesterday announced a new plan for using services like Skype and Viber wherein a user gets 75MB of data for Rs 75 with a validity of 28 days. Subscribers who don’t opt for this special plan will be charged at 4p/10KB on 3G network and 10p/10KB on 2G network.

The fact that the telecom operator is charging subscribers extra for using VoIP services blows the very fabrics of the Net Neutrality, a concept that fosters fair and equal treatment for all kind of internet traffic and usage. In addition to media, the move by Airtel has also miffed lots of customers. People have taken it to Twitter to express their anger, dedicating a hastag for it called the #FutureAirtelCharges. Here are some of the most amusing tweets by users.
