Shah Rukh Khan jumps onto e-commerce bandwagon with Yepme
In a new development, fashion e-tailer Yepme has roped in Shah Rukh Khan as their brand ambassador. In what will be his maiden association with an online commerce player, the actor has signed a unique deal with Yepme that also lets him pick up a stake in the company going forward, Times Of India reports.
The report states that Yepme, which only sells private brands, plans to spend Rs 15-20 crore over the next three months on its multi-media advertising campaign featuring SRK in an attempt to fight its bigger rivals. Yepme’s biggest competitors today are Flipkart’s Myntra and Rocket Internet’s Jabong in the online fashion space. The four-year-old company has got on board advertising agency McCann Erickson’s Prasoon Joshi to work on the new campaign that goes live November 10.
Meanhwile, things for the online retailer have not been easy going. In the past months, they have been trying hard to raise fresh funds, and are in the midst of closing a $30-million financing round with a consortium of four investors, including its two existing investors Helion Venture Partners and Capricorn Venture Partners.
