Five reasons why Sony Xperia Z3 Compact is a good buy
A few days back, Sony launched Xperia Z3 along with its smaller, lighter and slightly cheaper variant, the Xperia Z3 Compact in India and priced these at INR 51,990 and INR 44,990 respectively. The Xperia Z3 Compact comes with Xperia Z3-like specifications packed in a smaller body, and costs INR 7,000 cheaper than its bigger brother. So in case you are confused about which one to opt for, here give you five reasons why Sony Xperia Z3 would make a better choice over the Xperia Z3 at that price.
Here are reasons why Xperia Z3 Compact is a better buy than Xperia Z3!
1. Powerful specifications:
As in the case of the Xperia Z1, this time as well Sony maintained the trend of launching a smaller variant of its flagship, without compromising on the specification front. So instead of stripping down specs, Sony launched the Xperia Z3 Compact as a premium Android Smartphone that is packed with top-end specs, however without an over-sized display which is standard to other bigger Smartphones in this range. The Xperia Z3 Compact runs on same 2.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor as the Xperia Z3.
This comes with 2GB of RAM instead of the 3GB RAM like the bigger Z3, but there is a smaller display screen to cater to for the processor. And 2GB isn’t too less for good Internet speed processing. There is 16 GB storage with 128 GB external, and like the elder brother this Compact has got 20.7-megapixel rear camera coupled with a 2.1-megapixel front facing camera.
2. Smaller in size for easy one-handed use:
The Xperia Z3 Compact, as its name suggests, is a compact variant of the Xperia Z3. This Smartphone dons a 4.6-inch display which makes it a bit smaller than the bigger variant that has a 5.2-inch display. It is due to this smaller size that makes the phone a better choice over the bigger variant. It is targeted at those who want to get a premium smartphone experience in a compact size that would be comfortable for one-handed use by easily fitting into their hands. The latest Apple Iphone 6, Samsung Galaxy Alpha and the cheap RedMi 1S fromXiaomi all sport 4.7 inch display screens.
3. Similar design, lighter in weight:
Sony Xperia Z3 Compact follows the Xperia Z3-like OmniBalance design language, though it does not bring as much metal as the bigger variant does. It gets a plastic band on the edges instead of an aluminium casing. Moreover the phone weighs less at 129 grams, which makes it lighter than the bigger variant.
4. Software goodness:
The Xperia Z3 Compact runs on Android 4.4 KitKat topped with Sony’s own UI elements that are also offered on the Xperia Z3, which brings a similar interface on both the devices. The company is essentially trying to bring a similar software experience across all its devices. Also, like its bigger brother, the phone also boasts Sony’s brand new feature called the PS4 Remote Play, which helps a user in remotely control the Playstation right from the phone’s display which can be used as a remote screen to connect to the PS4 and control games on it.
5. Comparatively easy on pocket:
The Xperia Z3 Compact is priced at INR 44,990, which is Rs. 7,000 less than its bigger variant, which makes it a good choice over the Xperia Z3 for those who don’t want to spend so much on a phone. Moreover, though the phone varies in terms of dimensions and a few other features, it ensures an Xperia Z3 like performance and software experience but at a comparatively cheaper price.
