BlackBerry Passport likely to launch in India later today
BlackBerry launched its latest smartphone called Passport last week. Today the Canadian company is set to launch its square-shaped smartphone in India at an event in Delhi that kicks off at 11:30AM.
As far as specifications are concerned, the BlackBerry Passport flaunts a 4.5-inch 1440×1440 pixels square display with 1:1 aspect ratio and is powered by a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. Also included are 13-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 32GB internal storage, microSD card slot, and a 3,450mAh battery. On the software front, the smartphone runs on BB10.3
The smartphone boasts a three-row QWERTY keypad, which is also touch-enabled. You can either tap on individual keys to type or swipe across keys like you would do on an on-screen keypad and according to BlackBerry, it is very accurate and reduces typos by up to 74 percent.
While we wait for BlackBerry to announce the price in India, the Passport went on sale in the US for $599 sans subsidies.
