Instagram Notes is now available globally: How to use it

0

Meta’s photo and video-sharing app, Instagram, first introduced Notes on its platform in December 2022. However, at the time, the feature was available to select users. Now, the Instagram boss Adam Mosseri has announced that the feature is available to all Instagram users across the globe.

This change particularly affects users in Europe and Japan where the feature was not available until today. “This week we are launching Notes in Europe and in Japan,” Mosseri said a short video that he shared via his official Twitter handle.

In his video, the Instagram boss said that there was a delay in introducing Notes in the European Union and Japan as the company needed more time to comply with local regulations. “And sometimes, in case of Notes, we launch something everywhere we can but have to hold back in a few countries if there is more work to do to comply with local regulations, which might be more onerous. That was the case with Notes in Europe and in Japan,” the Instagram boss said.

“But now that we have worked through all of that and we’re launching Notes across the entire European Union, in the UK and in Japan,” he added.

For the unversed, Instagram Notes lets users share their thoughts and see what your friends are up to by posting a short message that is visible to other users on the top of their inboxes in Instagram. Meta, while launching Notes last year, had said that Notes are short posts of up to 60 characters using just text and emojis that appear at the top of users’ inbox for 24 hours. “The company sReplies to notes will arrive as DMs in your inbox,” the company had added at the time.

In case, you haven’t tried Notes before, here’s what you need to do:

How to creates Notes in Instagram

Step 1: Open Instagram on your Android smartphone or iPhone.

Step 2: Tap the Inbox option at the top of the app.
