Samsung Galaxy S23 series to launch tomorrow: Everything we know so far

Samsung has scheduled to launch the Galaxy S23 series on February 1, 2023, which is tomorrow. The series has been subject to multiple leaks and certifications revealing most details.

It isn’t a secret that there will be three phones in the series, namely, the Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra. All will be getting an interactive upgrade. Having said that, let’s see everything we know about the S23 series before tomorrow’s launch.

Everything we know about the Samsung Galaxy S23 series

Samsung Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+

The entry-level Galaxy S23 and the Galaxy S23+ will come with a similar design as their predecessors with a bit of cleaning on the back. The vanilla device will feature a 6.1-inch flat-screen punch-hole display with an FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.

It will be an AMOLED panel that will have HDR10+ support and thin bezels. The S23+, on the other hand, will have a 6.6-inch panel with QHD+ resolution. Other display specs will be the same as the vanilla S23.

The displays on both phones will double up as an in-display fingerprint scanner offering added security. As for protection, both will have the new Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

Powering the phones will be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage on the S23’s base configuration, as per the recent news. Other variants may have faster UFS 4.0 storage. The S23+ will be all UFS 4.0 and LPDDR5X.

The duo will have a triple camera system on the back with a 50MP main lens, a 10MP telephoto sensor, and a 12MP ultra-wide lens.

The S23 will pack a 3,900mAh battery with support for 25W wired, 10W wireless, and reverse wireless charging. The S23+ will pack a 4,700mAh battery with support for 45W wired, 10W wireless, and reverse wireless charging.

Both phones will boot on Android 13-based One UI 5.1 out of the box. The S23 is tipped to start at Rs 79,999, whereas, the S23+ will start at Rs 89,999. The Galaxy S23 was spotted on a telco’s website with the following colors – Phantom Black, Lavender, Green, and Cream. The S23+ may have similar shades.

The major device in the series will be the Galaxy S23 Ultra. It will with a few improvements. The device will feature a 6.8-inch curved AMOLED panel with a QHD+ resolution of 3088 x 1440 pixels.

It will be a punch-hole panel with 2000 or higher nits of brightness and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The phone will also have an in-display fingerprint scanner like its other siblings.

The S23 Ultra is expected to come powered by an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC paired with up 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. Interestingly, the base variant will start with 256GB of storage.

It will have S-Pen support and come with a 200MP quad-camera system. This 200MP lens will be the newly launched Samsung HP2 sensor.

The other lenses will be a 12MP ultra-wide, a 10MP telephoto, and a 10MP periscope telephoto lens. It will have 100x digital zoom and 10x optical zoom.

It will pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 45W wired, 10W wireless, and reverse wireless charging support.

The device will boot on Android 13-based OneUI 5.1 out of the box. It will retail starting at Rs 1,14,999, as per rumors. The device will come in pale shades in comparison to its predecessors.
