Poco X5, Poco X5 Pro India launch date announced
Poco has announced the launch date for the upcoming X5 and X5 Pro smartphones. The launch of the company’s new mid-range phones in India will take on February 6, Poco revealed through a poster. This is the same date that Poco reportedly revealed during the movie Pathan. But unlike before, the announcement is now meant for everyone. The launch of the Poco X5 series in India will coincide with the global launch.
According to the Poco website, the X5 and X5 Pro smartphones will arrive at an event scheduled to begin at 5.30 pm IST on February 6 in India. However, the global launch of the phones will begin at 20:00 GMT+8 through the company’s online channels, such as its YouTube account. The promotional campaign for the Poco X5 Pro features Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya, who is the new brand ambassador for Poco.
Poco has revealed what the X5 Pro looks like in the images it has shared on social media, but there is no information on what the specifications could be. Thanks to leaks, we have a fair idea. Reports suggest the Poco X5 Pro is a rebranded Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition, while the Poco X5 could be a rebranded Redmi Note 12 5G.
Most of Poco’s phones launched in India and other global markets are rebadged versions of Redmi phones, which means the Poco X5 Pro specifications may include a 6.67-inch FullHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. Powering the Poco X5 Pro could be an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor. It could come with a 108-megapixel main camera on the back, alongside an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera. For selfies, there may be a 16-megapixel camera inside a punch-hole. The Poco X5 Pro will reportedly have a 5000mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging and run Android 12-based MIUI 14.
Poco will announce the phones next month and that is when we would come to know about the prices, besides the specifications.
