A free demo for Miitopia is now live on the Nintendo Eshop

If you missed the charming, comedy-filled adventure game Miitopia when it originally released on the 3DS or are just on the fence about the game, you’ll have a chance to experience it again or the first time ahead of its release.

Announced on Nintendo’s official Twitter, a free demo for Miitopia is now available on the Nintendo Eshop and even features a save-data transfer with the full version of the game.

Miitopia is a traditional JRPG with a twist. Cast your friends, family, or anyone you choose to star in an adventure to take down the face-stealing Dark Lord. Create and customize your Mii characters and give them proper roles and personalities, and watch the drama come to life. Whether it’s your grandma, your best friend, or maybe Mario and Luigi themselves, watch as the goofy drama unfolds in between turn-based combat.

Miitopia is more than just a remaster of the game, however, and features some additions to the game as well. In this new version of Miitopia, you’ll have more customization options to fine-tune your Mii’s look as well as their personality, and you can even recruit and maintain relationships with horses. Crush evil beneath a well-placed hoof.

This isn’t the first time Nintendo has delivered a demo ahead of a game’s release or offered a save-data option. Ahead of both Pikmin 3 Deluxe and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity‘s release, demos were released that gave players a taste of what was to come, as well as a bonus or two for transfer their save-date over.

We’ll learn more about Miitopia as we get closer to its May 21 release date. The quirky RPG, while simple, has an addictive charm that will surely resonate with young kids who game on their Nintendo Switch.
