What you need to know
Apple TV+ has announced a new show coming to the streaming service in January.
El Deafo is based on a New York Times best-seller.
El Deafo will premiere on January 7, 2022.
Another show aimed at kids is coming to Apple TV+ next month.
Streamer Apple TV+ has announced that it will premiere El Deafo, a new animated kids’ series on January 7, 2022. The show will be “based on the No. 1 New York Times best-seller and Newbery Honor-winning graphic memoir,” a press release says.
Apple TV+ says that El Deafo will include voices from newcomer Lexi Finigan, Pamela Adlon, Jane Lynch, and Chuck Nice with the first trailer also made available on YouTube.
“El Deafo” follows perceptive young Cece (voiced by Finigan) as she loses her hearing and finds her inner superhero. Going to school and making new friends can be tough. Having to do both while wearing a bulky hearing aid on your chest? That takes superpowers! With a little help from her superhero alter ego El Deafo, Cece learns to embrace what makes her extraordinary.
The new series will join other Apple TV+ shows aimed at kids including Helpsters, Ghostwriter, and The Snoopy Show among many more. Priced at just $4.99 per month, Apple TV+ is great value and the increasing number of new shows, movies, and documentaries really drives that point home. It’s also available as part of the Apple One subscription bundle, making it even better value for existing Apple Arcade and Apple Music subscribers.
