What an electrifying find!

What you need to know

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is an open-world Pokémon game that takes place in a historic Sinnoh region, called the Hisui region.
Regional variants of modern Pokémon have been added to games in Pokémon Sun and Moon, Sword and Shield, and now Legends: Arceus.
The latest regional variant announced is Hisuian Voltorb, which is now Electric/Grass type.

Starting with Pokémon Sun and Moon on the Nintendo 3DS, The Pokémon Company began including regional variants to further explore the theme of evolution in the Pokémon universe. Galarian variants made their way to Pokémon Sword and Shield, and regional variants are coming to the upcoming open-world game, Pokémon Legends: Arceus. The ancient Sinnoh region is called the Hisui region, home to Hisuian variants of Pokémon such as Stantler, Growlithe, Basculin, Zorua, and Zoroark.

A new Hisuian form has been teased, and subsequently revealed. This time around, it’s Hisuian Voltorb, an Electric/Grass type that resembles the wooden Pokéball prototypes used in the ancient Sinnoh game.

Hisuian Voltorb looks very similar to the Poké Balls of the Hisui region. This Pokémon is always in high spirits and has a friendly personality. However, it discharges its stored electricity when it gets excited, so it frequently shocks nearby humans and Pokémon. pic.twitter.com/TTlY8hh623

Hisuian Voltorb is easily excitable, but tends to discharge electricity when it’s too excited. If you’re its trainer, you’d better watch out! As of this writing, there has been no mention of what Hisuian Electrode may look like, but we have no doubt that it, too, will sport a wooden look.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus releases on January 28, 2022, available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch family of system.
