Apple is expected to announce a new Apple Watch within the next few weeks.
New CAD renders appear to show the flat-sided case we can expect from the new release.

A big redesign is incoming.

New CAD renders might have given us another look at what we can expect when Apple announces Apple Watch Series 7 within the next few weeks.

Shared by 91mobiles, the high resolution renders are apparently based on data shared by “industry sources” and depict an Apple Watch with a whole new design. Gone are the curved, bulbous sides we’re accustomed to and in come the squared-off flat edges of the popular iPhone 12.

This redesign is one that we’ve been expecting since leaks first started a few months ago. Jon Prosser previously shared similar images based on information he had been given, and these new images appear to once again back that up.

One notable change beyond the shape of the sides is the elongation of speaker holes, while button placement doesn’t appear to be changing this time around.

The Apple Watch Series 7 renders show the upcoming smartwatch will have a flat sides rather than a curved frame seen on previous Apple Watch modes. The watch will have a silicone strap and it should be replaceable with a variety of options after launch. The button placement doesn’t seem to have changed as we have the Digital Crown for navigation, a microphone, and a flat selection button on the right side of the frame. The left side sees two rather large slits for speakers. On the back of the dial, we have the usual heart-rate sensor and other sensors. Like always, the Apple Watch Series should be available in multiple colours this time as well.

The 91mobiles report claims the 44mm Apple Watch Series 7 will measure 44x38x9mm, suggesting a decrease in thickness from the Apple Watch Series 6’s 44X38X10.7mm dimensions.

All being well, we expect this new release to bring us the best Apple Watch yet when Apple announces it within the next few weeks.
