Microsoft Lumia 640XL launched in India, priced at Rs 15,799, features 5.5-inch HD display, 13-megapixel camera, 3,000mAh battery

In addition to launching the Lumia 640, Microsoft today also launched the Lumia 640XL in India today. As the name suggests, the latter is essentially the phablet version of the Lumia 640, and it too was launched at MWC last month. The phablet is priced at Rs 15,799 in India, and will be exclusively available on Flipkart from today.

As far as specifications go, the Lumia 640XL flaunts a 5.7-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) ClearBlack, IPS LCD display with a pixel density of 259ppi. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and paired with 1GB of RAM.

On the storage front, the handset offers 8GB internal memory, which can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. Additionally, Microsoft is also offering 30GB free OneDrive storage.

On the photography front, the phablet features a 13-megapixel auto focus camera with Zeiss optics, f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. Up front, there is a 5-megapixel selfie camera with a wide angle lens and f/2.4 aperture.

The phablet also features a 3,000mAh battery, which the company claims is good enough for up to 23.7 hours of talk time and 39 days on standby mode. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and on the software front, it runs on Windows Phone 8.1. Microsoft has also promised that it will soon be updated to Windows 10.

Microsoft has additionally launched a slew of offers with the 640XL. Mobikwik is giving away an online recharge cashback worth Rs 1,000, redeemable with a minimum recharge of Rs 200 per month for five months. Olacabs is offering a cash back worth Rs 800 on Ola money recharges where consumers will get Rs 200 cashback per recharge for the first four recharges of Rs 500 or higher.
