Apple’s 12-inch MacBook Air purported photos leaked yet again
Apple is rumored to be working on a 12-inch MacBook Air for quite some time now. Earlier this month, a report claimed that the company’s supplier Quanta Computer had begun the production of the said product, and now ifanr.com has published the alleged photos of the device.
The photos show off a smaller MacBook Air display put against some other Apple products to give an idea about the size of the screen panel. Another thing which the images suggest is that the new MacBook Air won’t have a backlit logo, which is rather surprising since all other recent MacBook Air have had that feature. The display, on the other hand, has fewer grey bezels at the edges, and instead comes with Retina MacBook Pro-like all-glass edge-to-edge cover.
From what we’ve heard so far, the new Air will embrace an improved display with 2304 x 1440 pixels resolution. A report from earlier this month detailed the new radical design in the forthcoming MacBook Air. According to which, the 12-inch variant will be “approximately a quarter-of-an-inch narrower, yet it is also a quarter-of-an-inch taller in order to accommodate the slightly larger display.”
The report also claimed that the new MacBook Air will only have USB Type-C ports. The rumor has since created a lot of panic among the tech community. Many people are wondering how will they plug-in their existing devices to the new Air with that port. The USB-C port offers a design which accepts the data cable to be inserted into it in any orientation, but it isn’t backward compatible with the previous generation USBs.
The Keyboard too has been stretched to edges, and all the keys have been moved closer to each other. It will be interesting to see how many of these claims are actually true, and if people will find the new design appealing enough.
