Teen creates fake Twitter account, claims responsibility for Bangalore blasts
Twitter has been fodder to many recent eye-openers in terror activities. After the Mehdi Masroor Biswas fallout, Twitter is now privy to another mishap with respect to the Bangalore blasts. A 17-year-old boy took to the social media site to allege his links to the crime that shook the city on Sunday night. Furthermore, he posed as a Muslim while declaring his participation in the blast.
City Crime Branch of Bangalore Police tweeted saying, “BCP is aware about the tweets. They are being examined. There is no reason to be alarmed. Please do not pay heed to rumours.”

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Abhishek Goyal confirmed that the boy was a ‘psychologically stressed’ Hindu, saying that his parents had documents to confirm his mental condition. He also tweeted requesting everyone to use Twitter responsibly.

The boy used the handle @LatestAbdul and tweeted before and after the blast, warning about the crime and even tagging politicians in his tweets. He claimed allegiance to ISIS, and claimed responsibilty for the blast. In one of his earlier tweets, he threatened that he would ‘attack’ and ‘bomb’ Alvas college in Moodbidri and Dakshina Kannada, if alleged ISIS sympathizer Mehdi Masroor Biswas was not released by police.
One of his tweet read, ‘I am Abdul the one behind Bangalore blast yesterday. In 2 days 2 more blast. I challenge catch me if you can. Police my foot. ISIS’. The account of @LatestAbdul has now been suspended.
Biswas used Twitter under the guise of @ShamiWitness to disseminate information of ISIS propaganda. The account was accused of radicalising few users, and he was arrested later by the police. He stressed that he had no direct allegiance with ISIS and was just an information curator – out of interest.
