Why motion smoothing is bad for your TV screen

The TV industry is prone to gimmicks. Some of them are more blatant than others, such as curved screens, 3D, and decadent features aimed at the “luxury” market. In recent months, I’ve come to lump 8K TVs into the same category. There’s no point to 8K resolution if the most you can watch natively is a narrow selection of YouTube videos.
