Audi A3 Cabriolet to be launched tomorrow: Price in India starts from INR 45 lakhs for A3 Cabriolet

The Audi A3 Cabriolet is going to be launched tomorrow on 11th December 2014 in India. This sporty version of the recently launched A3 sedan has been priced between INR 45-50 lakhs. Since it was first seen in the 2014 Auto Expo, the A3 Cabriolet has been creating quite some anticipation in the Indian automotive market.

Unlike the standard A3 sedans, which are locally assembled, these sporty versions will be CBU (completely built units), which makes them more pricy. The Audi A3 cabriolet will be a 4-seater convertible with an automatic fabric soft top roof instead of a complex metal folding roof. As it uses the hydraulic action, even while travelling at the speed of 50km/h the roof can be opened or closed under 18 seconds.

As for the looks the Audi A3 Cabriolet will be sporting bi-xenon headlamps with daytime running LEDs and LED tail lamps just as the ones in the sedan. Inside the cabriolet comes featuring a pop-out 7-inch infotainment system with Audi’s MMI and a touch pad. Other features include dual-zone climate control and electrically adjustable front seats.

Though internationally the A3 Cabriolet is available in two smaller capacity engines (1.4 TFSI and 1.6 TDi) and two larger capacity engines (1.8 TFSI and 2.0 TFSI), the Indian version will be having a 1.8-litre TFSI petrol and a 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine. The petrol version will give you 180PS of peek power and 280Nm of peek torque, while the diesel unit will be capable to develop a power of 184PS of peek power and 380Nm of peek torque. For transmission the A3 Cabriolet will be offering you a seven-speed S-Tronic dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
