I broke my Kindle Paperwhite on purpose to get rid of ads, and it mostly worked

Someone just found a brand-new hole in Amazon’s digital garden wall. Last week, a Reddit user flagged a bug on their Kindle Colorsoft that broke the home screen, effectively getting rid of ads and recommendations on their main page — all because they added a simple emoji to their device’s name. Huzzah!
