EICMA 2025: Honda CB1000GT Sport Tourer Revealed

Honda has unveiled the CB1000GT at EICMA 2025. As expected, the new sport-tourer shares its diamond-type steel frame and 1000 cc inline-four engine with the CB1000 Hornet, though both have been reworked to better suit the GT’s nature.

The Honda CB1000GT appears to have a sportbike look with touring capabilities. The front end is defined by a sharp, layered fairing and a pair of angular LED headlamps that sit below the tall, adjustable windscreen. From the side, it has clean lines flowing from the sculpted fuel tank into the integrated side panels. At the rear, it gets a short tail section that keeps the silhouette tidy.

Power comes from a retuned 1,000 cc inline-four, which can trace its DNA back to the CBR1000RR Fireblade. In the GT, it’s punching out 147 bhp at 11,000 rpm and 102 Nm of torque at 8,750 rpm. Honda says it has tuned the mill for stronger mid-range performance, while the gear ratios have also been revised.

On the feature front, the CB1000GT comes equipped with a 5-inch TFT display offering multiple layout options and smartphone connectivity. It also features a 6-axis IMU, multiple riding modes and Honda’s ESS (Emergency Stop Signal) system. A Smart Key keyless ignition system is standard. Another standard equipment of the CB1000GT is the quick shifter.

Compared to the motorcycle it is based on, Honda has given the CB1000GT a comprehensive chassis update and a new suspension setup. It runs electronically adjustable Showa suspension that varies damping automatically using speed, IMU data, and suspension sensors. Four presets are offered, including Standard, Rain, Sport, and Tour. Suspension travel is rated to be 130 mm at the front and 144 mm at the rear.

The CB1000GT also features a longer subframe and swingarm, offering extra room for both the pillion and luggage. The seat height is set at 825 mm, ground clearance stands at 135 mm, and the bike tips the scales at 229 kg kerb. Braking hardware consists of dual 310 mm front discs and a 240 mm rear disc; cornering ABS is standard. The sports tourer rides on 17-inch wheels at both ends.
