Dragon’s Dogma 2 showcase offers a look at new class as release date revealed

Capcom hosted a showcase for Dragon’s Dogma 2 on November 28, offering a deeper look into the game’s content and a few new features we can expect to see when it arrives next year.

One of the newest additions is an entirely new vocation (the Dragon’s Dogma equivalent to classes) called the Trickster. Within this class, players will be able to fight with illusions conjured by smoke courtesy of the Censer they wield. However, this isn’t the only feature of the vocation.

Alongside conjuring illusions, the power of your pawns – essentially your AI-controlled teammates throughout the game – can also be increased during combat for a limited period of time. The Trickster vocation is also described as a “great fit for players who prefer to step back from the battle and manipulate from the sidelines.”

Another thing the showcase made sure to spotlight was one of the newest enemies being added to the game. Introduced as the Talos, this intimidating enemy takes the form of a giant statue-like creature that you will be responsible for stopping along with your team of pawns.

During this enemy introduction, we also got a look at combat alongside your AI-controlled pawns within the game and the varied techniques you’re able to employ when it comes to taking down the Talos. Currently, this is the only new enemy we have seen in the game but hopefully, we start to see more as we get closer to its release.

At the end of the showcase, we finally received a release date for the game; it’s coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on March 22, 2024. With that said, this release date was accidentally set live on Steam prior to the showcase, but it’s still exciting to know when we can expect to get stuck into what the open world of Dragon’s Dogma 2 has to offer fairly early next year.

For fans of the best RPGs, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is worth keeping on your radar among all the upcoming games next year.
