As it looks to the future, CD Projekt Red wants The Witcher 4 and other new projects to be “something that we’ve never made at this scale, historically.”

During the company’s latest earnings conference on November 28, CD Projekt Red’s chief financial officer Piotr Nielubowicz discussed how the studio will distribute revenue going forward, following the successful release of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty and its best-ever third quarter, according to its earnings report (via GamesRadar+).

“We definitely want to continue with developing games and with investing into them,” Nielubowicz said. “We want to do it at a scale that was not precedented in the history of our company, working on a few projects at the same time – something that we’ve never made at this scale, historically.”

In terms of what’s next for CDPR, CEO Adam Kiciński joined the discussion to say that “Polaris is one of our top priorities”- the next The Witcher game which will kick off a new saga for the series.

“But we have to bear in mind that we are in parallel development for some time, and that’s a strategy goal, to be able to develop AAA games [in parallel],” he continued. “As Polaris is high priority, building the team in North America for Cyberpunk is the same priority.

“We are also working on other projects besides video games within our franchises,” he continued. “We have nothing to announce at the moment but we’ve been working on this for quite a while and the time will come to share some insights about this.

“And of course, The Molasses Flood will continue to develop Project Sirius with some direction,” Kiciński added. “And Canis Majoris [a remake of the first Witcher game], a very special project. We know the game very well because it’s The Witcher 1, but at the same time we want to remake it with all the new technology and designs that we are preparing for Polaris.”

CDPR also confirmed that almost 330 developers are currently working on The Witcher 4, which is just under 50% of the staff. This number is expected to grow to over 400 next year.
