Acer Aspire 5 launches with an Nvidia RTX 2050 GPU capable of AI and Ray Tracing

Acer Aspire 5 has launched in India with Intel 13th gen Core i5 processor and Nvidia RTX 2050 GPU. This combination is poised to offer mid-range performance, but there is a hint of concern about the GPU bottleneck. Let’s see what we mean and look at everything the new Acer laptop brings.

Acer Aspire 5 with RTX 2050: What’s the concern?

Although from the RTX 20 series, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2050 is based on a more recent Ampere GA107 design. It offers more shaders also but the memory bus is only 64 bits. The VRAM is also just 4GB GDDR6. 4GB of video memory is the bare minimum you’d want in your system and you would need more if you are serious about high-end gaming. The main concern is with how future-proofed this machine is.

This is backed by Intel Thread Director (which smartly manages the 12 threads depending on workload), 8GB of LPDDR4 RAM (upgradeable to 32GB) and 512GB of PCIe Gen4 NVMe storage. The software on board is Windows 11.

3. For connectivity, you are getting WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2. a full-size HDMI port, a USB Type-C Thunderbolt 4 port, and a couple of USB-A ports.
