How PS5 backward compatibility works: Can you play PS4 games on PS5?

Unlike previous Sony games consoles, the PlayStation 5 is fully backward compatible with games from the last generation. That means you can play the vast majority of PS4 games. And, in some cases, you even get enhanced frame-rates, loading times and/or other improvements.
