Jio says its True 5G service is now available in 236 cities across India
Reliance Jio has been aggressively expanding the availability of its True 5G network across the country. Earlier this week, the company launched its 5G services in Haridwar. Now, just days later, the company has announced that it is bringing its True 5G network to 10 more cities across the country. With this, Jio’s True 5G service is now available in 236 cities across the country.
The company today made its 5G services available in Hindupur, Madanapalle and Proddatur in Andhra Pradesh; Raigarh in Chhattisgarh; Talcher in Odisha; Patiala in Punjab; Alwar in Rajasthan; Mancherial in Telangana; Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh; and Roorkee in Uttarakhand.
“We are grateful to the State Governments of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand for their continuous support in our quest to digitize the region,” a Jio spokesperson said on the occasion.
It is worth mentioning that Jio’s 4G subscribers can upgrade to the company’s True 5G network by clicking on the Jio Welcome Offer banner in the company’s MyJio app. On doing so, the MyJio app will scan if the service is available in the city where the user is and if their phone supports 5G network. If it does, the app will connect the user to the company’s 5G network.
