Google Calender is inviting some users to fake events: Heres whats happening

Many users have been experiencing a strange glitch in the Google Calendar mobile app, wherein the app creates non-existent events based on Gmail messages. 9to5Google reported that the app is creating events based on delivery notifications, newsletters, and purchase receipts. In other words, your Nykaa delivery may be labelled as an all-day event, which, let’s be honest, sort of is the case for avid shoppers. Google has not commented on this.

Google Calendar Glitch

A user shared their screenshot and described the glitch saying “It’s like finding landmines in my calendar,”. Google Calendar garners information from the users’ email inbox to ascertain what their date looks like and create a calendar accordingly.

How to make this glitch stop?

Fortunately, there’s a very simple way to make this stop. Users must head to settings and navigate to the “Show events from Gmail” option. Toggle it to turn it off.
