Bayonetta 3 is headed to the Nintendo Switch on October 28

Bayonetta 3 was first announced all the way back at the Game Awards 2017 as a Nintendo Switch exclusive.
Developer PlatinumGames went dark for years until sharing last year that the game would be launching in 2022.
A new trailer has confirmed that Bayonetta 3 has a release date of Oct. 28, 2022.
Preorders for the game are also opening up across retailers.
Bayonetta 3 finally has a release date! Nintendo shared on Wednesday that the new action game from PlatinumGames is now slated to launch on Oct. 28, 2022. While the game was first revealed all the way back in 2017 at the Game Awards, a new trailer is giving players an idea of what to expect. Additionally, preorders are now live on the Nintendo eShop!

This release date trailer introduced a new foe to face down: Homonculi, dangerous weapons that pose a threat to the entire universe. There’s also a new playable character, a younger witch by the name of Viola who wields a sword. Meanwhile, the titular Umbra witch can still be seen rocking her new outfit and hairstyle, continuing to stoke speculation of just the story will entail…especially since there’s a second Bayonetta.
The first two Bayonetta games are critically acclaimed titles, so it’ll be interesting to see if after all these years, Bayonetta 3 also ends up joining the list of the best Nintendo Switch games available.
