Xiaomi 12 Pro, Xiaomi 12, and 12X global launch set for March 15: How to watch livestream

Xiaomi 12 series is set to debut globally today. The brand flagship smartphone series was initially introduced in China last year. The new lineup includes three handsets- Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and 12X. The regular and Pro models boast Qualcomm’s latest silicon- Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Xiaomi 12 series price (expected)

Xiaomi 12 series was introduced in China for a starting price of CNY 3,699 (around Rs 44,300). Xiaomi 12 Pro was brought for a price starting at CNY 4,699 (around Rs 56,300). While the affordable variant from the lot, Xiaomi 12X came for a price of CNY 3,199 (around Rs 38,350) for the 8GB/128GB storage version. The question remains as to whether the Chinese OEM brings its premium series under a similar price line in the global market.

Xiaomi 12 series specifications

As for the specification sheet, all three Xiaomi 12 smartphones feature a 32-megapixel selfie camera, MIUI 13 based Android 12 OS, up to 12GB RAM/256GB storage, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. Xiaomi 12 and 12X get a 6.28-inch FHD+ AMOLED display. While the Xiaomi 12 Pro features a slightly tall 6.73-inch WQHD+ E5 AMOLED panel. As mentioned, the 12 and 12 Pro gets the premium Snapdragon chipset. Xiaomi 12X, on the other hand, equips a Snapdragon 870 chipset.

On the camera front, Xiaomi 12 and 12X offer a triple camera system having a 50-megapixel primary sensor, 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 5-megapixel macro sensor. Xiaomi 12 Pro gets a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel portrait sensor, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor. As for battery backup, the vanilla, and 12X model bags a 4,500mAh battery with a 67W fast charging solution, while the 12 Pro ships with a 4,600mAh battery and 120W fast charging support. Speaking of the global models, we expect Xiaomi to bring the same internals and features as the Chinese variants.
