Apple’s AirPods are dominating Cyber Monday, here’s why

There is a lot of people taking advantage of the best Cyber Monday AirPods deals this weekend. So much so that the top three spots of Amazon’s headphone charts are occupied by Apple’s best true wireless earbuds.

The question then is why are so many people turning to AirPods this sales season, and why should you get in on the action?

Seamless

Apple’s AirPods shine at the heart of the Apple ecosystem. Like everything Apple does, the more Apple you have in your life, the better it all works. If you own any Apple device, be it an iPhone, iPad, MacBook, or even an Apple TV, Apple’s AirPods will make a truly awesome audio addition in your life thanks to seamless pairing, fast-switching, and excellent features like spatial audio which only work with Apple’s hero products.

Of course, there’s perhaps a slightly-less enticing (but still strong) desire to “keep it in the house” when it comes to branding, and Apple’s distinctive AirPods design perfectly complements all of its other devices and are easily recognizable.

Audio quality

All of Apple’s AirPods offer unrivaled audio quality within their respective price brackets, which really complements the coherence of the ecosystem we just talked about. Apple’s new AirPods 3 in my opinion are some of the best earphones I’ve ever listened to, and lots of folks feel the same about other AirPods models too.

Sweet spot

Truthfully, I personally believe that AirPods are so in-demand right now because we’re in a perfect AirPods sweet spot, a mini Golden age of pricing, performance, and life cycle that has landed right before the holiday season when AirPods make great gifts for any member of the family.

Apple’s AirPods 2 with charging case are currently retailing at about $100 at Amazon for the sales weekend, the perfect entry point for any Apple user. If you want wireless charging it’s only about $25 more, and in both the US and the UK the second-generation AirPods are popular, in fact, they’re more popular than the more-recent third-generation AirPods.

As mentioned this is a fantastic time to buy AirPods. The third generation of AirPods came out just a few weeks ago, so we were blown away to find nearly $30 off the $179 asking price so soon after launch. The recent release of AirPods three has just pushed down the price of the second generation too, and you can buy them safe in the knowledge they won’t be updated for some time. AirPods Pro, currently second on Amazon’s top charts, are also a winner. That’s because they’ve now been out for long enough that they enjoy really hefty discounts, yet there is no real sign that Apple plans to replace them anytime soon. AirPods Pro are the perfect upgrade on AirPods thanks to their active noise cancelation, yet because of the time that we live in, they’re only a few dollars more than regular AirPods, meaning you can actually choose between the two without really factoring in the price.

Even Apple’s AirPods Max have delivered all-time low prices of $429 at Amazon, making the premium price tag a little easier to stomach.
