Just 2% of Americans say Apple TV+ has the best original content available

Apple TV+ continues to pick up new content but it doesn’t seem to be doing it quickly enough for some people. In fact, just 2% of Americans said that Apple’s streaming service has the best original content when asked by a new Morgan Stanley Survey.
Reported by Variety, the survey included more than 25 different streaming services of which 18 were paid-for offerings. 3,100 adults were asked which streaming service had the best original content, with Netflix coming out as the winner with 39% of the overall vote. Apple TV+ accounted for just 2% with Amazon Prime, Disney+, and HBO Max all sitting above it in the chart.
26% of those asked said they didn’t know, according to the report.
Notably, the same report also discovered that the average household also now pays for 2.5 streaming services – a number that shows a steady upward trend in recent years.
According to the Morgan Stanley survey, the average U.S. household now pays for 2.5 streaming-video services — up from 2.3 in 2020 and 1.8 in 2019. Among consumers who subscribe to any SVOD service, the average increases to 3-5 services. The analyst firm estimates that there were more than 300 million streaming subscriptions in the U.S. as of year-end 2020.
