Get hyped for the upcoming Apple event with some AR.

What you need to know

  • Apple has released an AR experience for its upcoming event on April 20th.
  • The event will kick off at 10:00 AM PDT.

As the company has done for a number of recent events, Apple has released an augmented reality Easter Egg for its upcoming event on April 20th.

Greg Joswiak, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, was the first to post the AR experience and, as Jos had a head start in front of everyone, created the best-looking one so far. The AR experience plants the Apple logo for the upcoming “Spring Loaded” event into your environment. The animation starts as a loop on the ground and then flies all over the place until it creates the Apple logo.

If you want to try the AR experience out for yourself, head over to the Apple Events website on your iPhone or iPad and tap on the logo at the top of the page. You can choose to check it out using either augmented reality or as an object contained on your screen. The AR experience, of course, is much more fun!

The April 20th Apple Event was actually leaked by Siri earlier today. Updates to the iPad Pro as well as the company’s rumored AirTags are expected to be announced.

Apple’s new iPad Pro is likely to include a new mini-LED display as well as an updated processor and possibly 5G. Apple’s AirTags are its long-rumored tracking devices designed to work with Apple’s FindMy network to help you keep track of your valuables and belongings.

Apple’s April event was actually initially pegged for March by multiple leakers who all turned out to be wrong, Jon Prosser even admitting that a source had told him April but he had chosen to believe multiple other sources instead, a mistake that cost him his eyebrows.

You can check out the Apple Event AR experience on the Apple Events website.
