Microsoft is all set to host an event tomorrow where it will be discussing the “next chapter of Windows.” In addition to previewing some consumer features for the Windows 10 operating system, the Redmond-based company will reportedly be unveiling a “phone-laptop hybrid” at the event as well, The Information reports.

According to the publication, Microsoft will be taking the wraps off a device in the form of a “phone-laptop hybrid.” The device is aimed at enterprise users, and could boast a sliding display to reveal a landscape QWERTY keypad underneath.

Microsoft has a lot riding on tomorrow’s event where it will be unveiling ways to give the Windows Phone platform a boost. According to the publication, Microsoft will show off “a single code base inside the software that will allow an app to run well on phones, tablets and PCs, as opposed to being optimized for one screen size.”

In essence this means developers will be able to create an app that will work seamlessly on all devices including smartphones, tablets, laptops and PCs running on Microsoft’s operating system. This is a big deal since, the Windows platform has a bigger developer base compared to the ones developing apps for Windows Phone.

From what we have heard so far, Microsoft will be previewing some consumer oriented features for Windows 10, and might also take wraps off the rumored Spartan browser. This web browser is said to resemble Chrome and Firefox browsers and comes with many handy features including Cortana integration.
