Infosys CEO Vishal Sikka sends iPhone 6 to 3,000 top employees as a ‘Thank You’ gift
In what can be considered as testimony of the revenue Infosys made last year, 3,000 top performing employees got the best surprise ever. CEO Vishal Sikka hand picked the top performers of the company and gifted them an Apple iPhone 6.
The Times Of India reports that this unusual gesture from the company is perhaps part of an effort to stem the high attrition rate. Along with the iPhone 6, there was a letter written Sikka by himself, addressing employees as ‘friend’.
The letter read, ”Thinking back on 2014 feels good, doesn’t it? There was so much you wanted to accomplish with seemingly so little time to do it all. Now, as you stand on the brink of the New Year and look back, there is the satisfying realization that a great part of it actually got done. This feeling is not unlike the one Kahlil Gibran evokes in his lyrical commentary on work – `When you work, you are a flute through whose heart the whispering of the hours turns to music’. And I believe it’s not enough that we simply recognize it, we must celebrate it. That’s why I am so happy that we are presenting you with a Holiday Bonus – the cool new Apple iPhone 6. A gift that’ll always remind you and your teammates of the exceptional value you delivered for Infosys.”
Some employees took to social media, to express their gratitude for the unexpected gift, and say thanks to the new CEO for the recognition.

Vishal Sikka took the helm as CEO just six months ago. Apart from the iPhone 6 to 3,000 employees, the company has also announced a 100 percent bonus to all employees for the December quarter. As on December 31 last year, Infosys had 169,638 employees on its payroll.
