If you have an oil well to your name in the Middle East, run a country, own a multinational company or belong to a royal family, there are not a lot of phones befitting your status. Luxury phone maker Vertu wants to change that and has brought its Signature Collection to India, with a price tag starting from an eye-watering Rs 14 lakh.

Vertu’s Signature Collection is not just a smartphone boasting top-of-the-line specifications and features. In fact it focuses on giving an unparallel experience using exotic build materials and personal services.

As a part of its Signature Collection, Vertu has brought three phones to India — Signature Ultimate Black, Signature Red Gold Black DLC and Signature White Mother of Pearl. As mentioned above, the price tag of these devices start from Rs 14 lakh.

The Signature Ultimate Black is the “purest black handset Vertu has ever produced.” The entire handset is pure black, including the keypad, which only lights up when in use. The only thing breaking the blackness is the white logo at the back.

The company claims the color and finish is achieved by giving the handset a Diamond Like Coating (DLC), which covers the entire phone. The only other materials used are the sapphire crystal display, and the leather casing at the back.

The Signature Red Gold Black DLC is a tad more glamorous than the Ultimate Black variant. In addition to the complete dark look, this variant gets an 18 Karat red gold trim, and select key.

Lastly, the Signature White Mother of Pearl is the most glamorous of the trio. It is decked with sapphire face pieces with white mother of pearl inlays. The select key is made using princess cut diamond, and the polished white ceramic front of the device is unique to every handset. This handset is also bundled with a matching pearl finish alligator case.

As for specifications, the three phones flaunt a 2-inch QVGA display and features 4GB internal memory, and a battery that the company claims is good enough for talktime of up to 5 hours and 30 minutes, and up to 300 hours on standby mode.

In order to provide a unique experience, the three phones also come bundled with two features — Concierge and Life. The former is essentially a real-life assistant assigned to each user. At just a call, the lifestyle manager can make hotel reservations, recommend the best places to visit, and also help choose the best gifts for your loved ones. The more you use this service, the more they get to learn your habits and choices and make better recommendations.

Life, on the other hand, gives users elite privileges unrestricted access to special close-door events, private clubs and other such events that are meant for the who’s who of this world.
