Lava has today launched a new smartphone in its Iris lineup called the Iris X1 Atom. The smartphone is priced at Rs 4,444 and will be available online as well as offline from next week onwards.The smartphone features a 4-inch display set at a resolution of 480×800 pixels and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor paired with 512MB of RAM. The smartphone also includes 4GB of internal storage, which can further be expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card.

The Iris X1 Atom also sports a 5-megapixel rear camera accompanied by LED flash, VGA sensor, connectivity options like 3G support, dual-SIM, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi and micro-USB, and a 1,750mAh battery.

On the software front the Iris X1 Atom runs on Android KitKat 4.4, and the company has guaranteed an update to Android Lollipop. At this price point, and with such specifications, it will up against the likes of the Spice Dream UNO, Karbonn Titanium S10 and Panasonic T40.
