Microsoft launches affordable Internet-capable Nokia 215 in India, priced at Rs 2,149

Back in January, Microsoft announced the Nokia 215, its most affordable Internet-capable feature phone yet. Today, the Redmond-based company has today launched the dual-SIM variant of the phone in India with a price tag of Rs 2,149.

As for specifications, the Nokia 215 sports a 2.4-inch QVGA (320×240 pixels) LCD display with a pixel density of 166ppi. The phone packs in a 1,100mAh battery, which the company claims is good enough for up to 20 hours of talktime and 29 days on standby mode, FM Radio and also supports microSD cards to expand the memory up to 32GB.

The handset runs on Nokia Series 30+ OS, and the Internet-capable phone supports EDGE. It also comes bundled with Opera Mini browser, Bing search, MSN Weather, Twitter, Facebook, and Messenger apps.

“With our ultra-affordable mobile phones and digital services, we see an inspiring opportunity to connect the next billion people to the Internet for the first time,” Jo Harlow, corporate vice president of Microsoft Devices Group was quoted as saying. “The Nokia 215 is perfect for people looking for their first mobile device, or those wanting to upgrade to enjoy affordable digital and social media services, like Facebook and Messenger.”
