Earlier today, Xiaomi launched its flagship Mi Note at an event in China. In India however the company has yet to launch last year’s Mi 4, but it seems we won’t have to wait long for the device. According to EconomicTimes’ Karan Bajaj, Xiaomi is planning on launching the Mi 4 in India later this month on January 28.

Bajaj was attending Xiaomi’s event today in China and was reportedly told about the event by the copmany’s VP Hugo Barra. The timeline corroborates with Manu Jain’s revelation earlier today that the Mi 4 would be launching in India towards the end of this month.

The Mi 4 was earlier speculated to launch in December last year, but has since seen quite a few delays. The company is also embroiled in a legal battle with Ericsson, which could have further delayed plans for launching the Mi 3 successor in the country.

To recap, the Xiaomi Mi 4 was unveiled in July last year. As far as specifications go, the former flagship device flaunts a 5-inch full HD 1080p display, and is powered by a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM. Also included is 16GB internal storage.

The smartphone also features a 13-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 3,080mAh battery that the company claims can survive for a day and half on normal usage. It also claims that the battery can be charged up to 60 percent in just an hour.

As mentioned above, Xiaomi today launched the Mi Note and also unveiled the Mi Note Pro, which is essentially a more powerful variant of the Mi Note phablet that will be launched later this year.
