As expected, HTC is utilizing the CES platform to attract people with entry and mid-level smartphones. The company announced the Desire 320 yesterday, and now the smartphone manufacturer has announced the Desire 826. Compared to the Desire 820, the company had launched late last year, the Desire 826 comes with better display (1080p vs 720p), arguably better selfie camera (4-UltraPixel vs 8-megapixel), and the company’s signature BoomSound speaker.

As far as the specifications of the handset are concerned, the HTC Desire 826 sports a 5.5-inch display with 1080p screen resolution. Clad in a polycarbonate body, the handset is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB internal storage.

The BoomSound speakers now include Dolby audio enhancement as well. On the camera front, there’s a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 4-UltraPixel camera on the front. The Desire 826 runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with Sense software skin on top.

The company announced that the handset will be available in limited stock in Asian countries first, with global rollout slated for later this month. HTC hasn’t revealed the price of the handset just yet.
