Xiaomi hires ex-Googler Jai Mani as the lead product manager for Mi India
Xiaomi has bagged yet another big-time personnel. The company has hired former Google employee Jai Mani as the lead product manager of Mi India, Hugo Barra, Vice President of International for Xiaomi Hugo Barra revealed on his Facebook and Google Plus accounts.
Before joining Mi India, Mani was with Google from 2009 to 2013, where he worked in a wide-ranging areas including Google Play Strategy, Analytics Associate, Double Click, and Google Account Associate. After leaving Google, Mani co-founded a startup – the name of which isn’t listed on Mani’s LinkedIn account.
Hugo Barra himself was a Google employee who was hired by Xiaomi last year. Mani will be leaving San Francisco and relocating to Bangalore. The latest hire suggests Xiaomi’s effort to increase its operations and footprints in India. The company is also working with partners to increase the number of Xiaomi’s customer service centers in the country.
