iOS 8.1 was seeded to developers last week, and slowly we are getting a better idea of what the first major update is set to offer. In addition to bug fixes, and Apple Pay, one of the features that the update will bring is the ability to choose the network you are connecting to – 2G, 3G, and LTE networks for voice and data connectivity.

While iOS 8 gave users the ability to enable and disable LTE connectivity, an option to toggle between 2G and 3G had disappeared. On iOS 8.1, users will be able to go to Settings -> Cellular to choose the network you want to connect to.

Apple is expected to release iOS 8.1 on October 20. Among other features, the update is said to bring support for Apple Pay. There is steep possibility that Apple may release the update on its rumored October event where it is expected to launch iPad Air 2, refreshed Retina iPad Mini, and next-generation Mac Mini.
