Last month, HTC announced the Desire 820, alongside launching the Desire 816G in India. Today, the company has launched the smartphone with a price tag of Rs 24,990.

The talking points on the Desire 820 are the 8-megapixel selfie camera at the front of the device, and the 64-bit processor on the inside. The smartphone is available in two variants, differentiated by the processor inside. The Desire 820 is powered by a 1.5GHz 64-bit Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, while the other variant called Desire 820q is powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor. The HTC Desire 820q is priced at Rs 22,500. Both the variants will be available in stores from November 5.

To recap on the specifications, the Desire 820 flaunts a 5.5-inch HD 720p display, and includes 2GB of RAM, and 16GB internal storage that can be further expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. On the photography front, supplementing the 8-megapixel selfie camera is a 13-megapixel snapper at the back.

The device also includes a 2,600mAh battery, which the company claims is good enough for 22.4 hours of talk time and 424 hours on standby mode. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and on the software front, it runs on Android 4.4 KitKat wrapped under HTC’s Sense UI.
